Fees model for the National Library

National Library’s Te Puna Services is a collection of online tools and services which support Libraries around NZ with their daily tasks of searching, cataloguing, managing collections and sharing resources. Te Puna services are only available to member libraries, which pay an annual subscription fee for the services. In this project we were asked to review the existing model for calculating fees.

We analysed and documented the existing model, and assessed the operation and outcomes against agreed criteria. We then developed four alternative fee models and recommended a preferred option. This was presented in a way that allowed National Library to discuss the options with its member libraries. We developed and fully documented the agreed fees model and passed this over to our client. The fees model continues to be used to review and re-set fees.
