Funding options and business case

The importance of aviation security has recently been thrown into the spotlight with the global pandemic and the rise of terrorism. However, our border agencies have been aware of these growing threats and have been developing long-term capital investment programmes to ensure they have the equipment and systems necessary to respond to these threats and meet international agreements.

Our client asked us to develop funding options to ensure that their proposed capital programme could be implemented. We identified and assessed options, developed a single stage business case (Strategic, Economic and Financial) and supported this with a 10-year financial strategy. This enabled the Board to approve the capital programme and to submit a funding bid to the Crown to upgrade security facilities at the border.
