Development of a new global business model

Immigration NZ faced a challenge in how to manage year-on-year volume growth and the increasing complexity of visa applications. We worked with the agency to identify opportunities to reduce costs by shifting visa processing onshore and increasing productivity through process changes.

In a tight timeframe, we developed a business case that modelled the potential productivity savings that could be achieved and identified a staged implementation roadmap over a 4-year period. A key driver in the business case was the delivery of productivity improvements needed to manage forecast growth without incurring unacceptable increases in operating costs and FTEs.
